I’ve seen mahjong parlors all over Japan. They seem to run the gamut from seedy yakuza haunts to respectable family entertainment places along with manga/internet cafes.
What I want to know are three things. First, when you go there, do you go with your friends and get a table so you can play together, or is it like a casino/card room where you go to find a game with random people?
Second, how do these places make money? Do they charge per hour for your seat and try to sell you food and drinks? Do some of them take a cut of the bets like card rooms?
Which leads me to the third question. Gambling is illegal in Japan, yet mahjong parlors operate out in the open. Obviously nobody plays mahjong just for fun any more than they would play poker. So how do the players handle the exchange of money without attracting unwanted attention?
My Husband told me Monday morning (while I was getting ready for work mind you) that he lost his part of the Mortgage on Poker (at the Casino) on Saturday afternoon. I love my Husband very much and I never would’ve thought he’d be so quick to put our home in jeopardy. At my request and him idenifying there’s a serious problem…He called and is going to be seeing a therapist to understand what led him to this problem and I’m more then willing to help in anyway possible. This just hurts me so much, he lost money and I feel like I have the weight of the whole world on my shoulders. 
How do you get this bitter feeling to go away? (
We have no children and have been married over a year (together 6)
I did tell him that if this happens again I cannot let him take me down with him…this will cost him our marriage…
House payment is already mailed…I would never let that happen….
Luckily I can cover his half do to an EXTRA incentive work I do at my job–working through my lunch/breaks… I just worry that bailing him out it showing him it’s okay…

My husband and I will be going to Louisianna for my birthday in september. We are looking for a really nice casino (neither one of us have been there) and also a hotel? also what would you suggest as far as clubs? I will be turning 21 so i at least have to have some where that i can buy myself a drink!! but i guess theres always alcohol in the casino…. i dont know. any tips? suggestions on where to go in LA? we were planning new orleans just because we guess that that would be the best… is it? oh and by the way… our gambling consists of Texas Hold em Poker so some place thats fun to do that.. thank you in advance for your answers!!
casinos are opening up all over the country and people go to casinos for entertainment and a place to be alone to get away from their problems outside of the casino, but they can make a big problem in the casino, it’s called compulsive gambling and my own definition is gambling more than what you can afford to gamble with, people are invisible to this disease and say i don’t have a problem, the ones that rack the credit cards, the ones that don’t have a pot to piss in, they have the problem, i know many people like this cause i was once a gambler, the life of a gambler is a lonely life, espn should not put poker on the channel cause younger dumber guys get involved in a game that really just supports commercialism and you really should play cheap 5 dollar games with your buddies if you ask me, i heard of people getting thousands and tens of thousands in debt, maybe even hundred thousands as well, so here is how i will tell you how to CONTROL your gambling HABITS
you start by putting 1000 in savings and then you set your PERCENTAGE of income you want to gamble with, if you don’t like to go broke spend 3% of it, if you like to gamble a lot spend 10% of it, so say you make 1000 bucks gamble 100 bucks, then when you have 3000 bucks in savings bring 200 bucks, then when you have 6000 bucks bring 300……cause you already gambled 10% of 1000, 10% of 2000, and 10% of 3000……100 + 200 + 300 = 600 = 10% of 6000, you see…..you only gamble a FIXED PERCENTAGE OF YOUR INCOME, hope this helps! what’s cool too is you can bring more and more, like 100 buck increases, so your odds of winning go up as your bankroll goes up!

Until recently, I’ve never met my father, but my mother is always saying “You’re just like your father.” Whenever I would ask her to explain what she meant, she wouldn’t answer me.
Now, I’m 21 years old and I love playing cards and gambling. I’ve been playing poker since I was 8 years old. I started sneaking into casinos at 16. Recently, I met my father and we decided to spend some time together. The first place he took me was a casino! He started telling me about himself and I found out that he’s an avid gambler too. We also have a lot of other things in common like the way we laugh and walk and talk. It’s so weird.
Anywhoo, I was wondering if it’s possible for things like this to be a part of your DNA or something like that?
I’m traveling to the south of France (Cannes) in January, and I am looking for opportunities to play some poker (Texas Hold’em no-limit/pot-limit). A tournament would be ideal, but cash games would be great too. Such a famous gambling area should have plenty of opportunities, but I have not been able to find information on where and when I could play. Help, anyone?

I do not care about the elegance and lavishness of mohegan that I hear about. I am talking about the gambling, food, and bar only.
Also, is 200-300 a decent amount to bring, as in, what am I looking at for prices at poker, blackjack, craps, and roulette tables. Definetely some video poker at the bars too. Thanks for your answers guys (and gals).
