3D Poker Looks to be the Future of Online Poker Games

Online Poker has been a huge hit over the past several years, and it looks to be that way for time to come. Some of the major Online Poker Rooms have updated their software regularly to improve the game play, but there is only so much you can improve on when dealing with a traditional poker room software.

The latest in Online Poker seems to be 3D Poker, which is growing at a very rapid rate. The best way to describe playing at a 3D Poker is that it’s similar to that of an advanced poker video game that you will find on game systems such as a PS3 or an Xbox 360. The main difference with playing 3D Poker on the Internet is that you have the ability to play for real money rather than just for fun.

3D Poker is still far from becoming the standard version of Online Poker, so whether it actually happens or not seems to a ways a way. However, with rate that technology improves, it doesn’t seem very unlikely that it could happen in the coming years.

3D Poker offers features and experiences that traditional Online Poker Rooms can’t even come close to. For example, at one of the highest rated 3D Poker Rooms, players have the ability to make their own unique character and even send a photo of themselves to the room to make the face of that character look like the photo. While playing, players can make different expressions or emotions to help keep the table exciting and even try to throw off an opponent’s potential read.

There are still a couple downfalls to 3D Poker that will likely change as technology improves. The biggest downfall is 3D Poker takes a much faster computer to run the software than the traditional online poker rooms. Another downfall, that some players may or may not care about, is that players won’t be able to see as many hands per hour since the actual game play is slightly slower than that of a traditional poker room.

There is one major 3D Poker Room that sticks out above the rest, and that is PKR. They first launched in 2006 and have been improving their software on a regular basis. PKR pretty much offers the best in everything when compared to other 3D rooms. They are even one of the fastest growing online poker rooms on the market today, which is quite the feat considering they are a fairly young room.

Whether someone is interested in 3D Poker or not usually depends on their intent. If a player is looking to play multiple tables at once to see as many hands per hour, then 3D Poker probably is not the best option for them. If someone if looking to add a little excitement to their play, customize their very own unique table character, and even make table expressions like that of real life play, then 3D Poker is probably something that would interest them.

Is Online Poker Different Than Real Life Poker?

In this day and age there are lots and lots of different ways to play poker, from just playing for fun, to playing for serious cash amounts in your local casino or online. There are a lot of differences when comparing the alternate versions of the games. I feel that you have to have a lot more self control when playing online, due to the fact that you will be using your credit card and it won’t hit you how much you have actually spent until your bill comes through.

Also another thing about online poker is the fact that the game is so fast, in real life poker you have a chat a laugh and try to evaluate your components, you get time to think and plan your next move. Online poker is just you, in front of your screen playing the game so fast that you are unable to think clearly. So you just keep clicking at your mouse buying more credits and losing more money.

All in all I feel that if you keep your cool and you write down a plan of how much you are going to spend, online poker can become a very good money earner. The reason for this is because if you just do not get too carried away and sit down and relax you can be in your prime. You will have no-one staring at you and making you nervous. You will also have the luxury of being at home with maybe a snack or drink.

There are a few tips to remember when going into a poker room either online or off. Without these tips you will be bound to fail. Firstly you should always remember that everyone plays poker differently, so don’t always think to yourself, this is what I would do otherwise you will lose. You must think out of the box. Never start counting how much money you have won otherwise you will start thinking that you are on a winning streak and will probably lose out if you continue playing.

When you are playing poker always stay silent, there is a reason that we get told to be silent in exams and it’s not just for the cheating, it is because you can concentrate much more when your surroundings are quiet. Finally the most important aspect to remember is know when to quit, whether you are losing or winning do not try to please your ego. You should have your money laid out from the start once that has gone just walk away.

Foxwoods Resort and Casino

Foxwoods Resort and Casino is located in Ledyard, Connecticut and is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Hartford Connecticut, 2 hour drive from the New York border and 1/2 from the Rhode Island line. Foxwoods offers multiple hotels, casinos, a kids area, meeting areas, a unique shopping experience, spas, golf and more! In addition, Foxwoods has teamed up with MGM to expand the already 4.7 million sq ft. complex to include an additional hotel, restaurants and luxury shopping corridor.

The hotels on the property include the Grand Pequot Tower, the Grand Cedar Hotel and the Two Trees Inn. MGM will be added in the spring. The Grand Pequot Tower is a 4-star hotel (AAA) with over 1,000 rooms. The tranquil Grand Salon and Spa is also offered here at the Towers. The Grand Cedar Hotel sits on top of Rainmaker Square, the Theatre District, fine dining, shopping, an indoor pool, and fitness center. Rainmaker Square is the entrance to separate portals of one of the casinos. Both of these hotels offer excellent service and staff and could be compared to any Marriott (Pequot Tower) or Sheraton (Grand Cedar) hotel with indoor pools and all the amenities.

My favorite is the Two Trees Inn. Two Trees is located about 10 minutes away from the casinos. It is a tranquil, quieter hotel that serves individuals looking to ‘get-away’ but still be able to go to the casino whenever they want. There is a large indoor pool, a sit down restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and a very friendly and professional staff. Just walking in there makes me want to curl up by the ‘fire’ with a good book. One word of advice, during busy times you should make a reservation at the restaurant or get there early to get a table.

As far as casinos goes it is one of the largest in the world (formally it was). There are over 380 tables with games ranging from blackjack and craps to paigow and Caribbean Stud Poker. There are over 7,000 slots including a 500 slot non-smoking area. The refurbished poker room features brand new penny and nickel slots.

Since the slots moved in, the no-smoking poker room has been moved to the lower level. Foxwoods is a charter member of the World Poker Tour. It hosts the World Poker Finals and the Foxwoods Poker Classic with its 114 tables. For the average player you will find Hold’em, Stud and others with very low to no-limit tables. There is a cafe with hot and coldofferings right next to the poker floor. Personally I liked when the poker room was upstairs (it was roomier) but the new area has a more intimate feel to it.

Wherever you are in the casino, the staff and dealers are unbelievably helpful and friendly and will make your stay wonderful.

Poker Popularity On The Rise

Lets play some poker! This is often heard in a London pensioners residential home – the most unlikely of all places. More and more people are turning to poker these days. Poker has shown an unprecedented growth in popularity in the last few years. There are many reasons contributing to this.

Poker has always been the favourite card game of many people. It has been on television since the late seventies but never managed to gain much popularity. One simple invention changed everything in the nineties, when – thanks to technological advances made around that period – it has become possible to use small sized unobtrusive cameras to show viewers the hole cards of the contestants while the hands were being played out.

Up until this point, viewers could only guess whats been happening in the game. This invention – called pocket cam – made watching poker on TV much more interesting, broadening the public appeal.

Another important step was the opening of the first online poker room where players could play for real money. Free poker online was played as early as the late 1990s in the IRC chatrooms, but the first real money poker game was dealt on a dedicated online poker website in January 1, 1998.

After this, the popularity of the game skyrocketed. Poker players have finally found the right medium that could get as many players involved as possible, from the furthest corners of the world. Now, players can play their favourite game in the comfort of their own homes. Internet poker shows steady growth as more and more people discover the convenience of online poker rooms.

The final step was, when a relatively unknown player called Chris Moneymaker surprised the world by winning the WSOP World Championship of Poker in 2003. Chris got his seat by winning a $40 online satellite tournament. Since then, online poker exploded.

Winning tournaments like this is no longer the privilege of the elite. With the right skills, everyone can be a winner and this appeals to a lot of new and prospective poker players. With the world seeing an amateur player winning against some of the best players in the world, poker really has taken off.
